3. TRAVEL WHISPERS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~ Your most adventurous holiday ~~
Last Summer, I travelled from Cesky Krumlov to Prague (Czech
Republic). Since the bus service was a good bit cheaper than the
train, me and my travelling companion decided that the longer journey
time was worth the money saved. We pitched up at the Bus Station -
basically just a shed - on a blisteringly hot afternoon to be greeted
by a bus that looked like it had been through a few altercations with
other traffic.
After stowing our packs (containing pretty much all we owned) in the
bus' hold - which the driver opened by producing the door handle from
his pocket, and subsequently booted shut after it jammed open - we
got on board a pretty empty bus. I reckoned this was surprising,
since I'd experienced other Czech bus rides in which the driver
cheerfully crammed more people on at every stop, resulting in every
seat being occupied and passengers standing from the very back all
the way to the front door.
As we got moving it became clear that the driver was in a hurry. The
entire bus seemed to be vibrating - which made the plastic seats,
complete with burn marks, shake like crazy - while the engine roared
like a wounded lion. The heat wasn't too much of a problem, as the
open windows let in constant gusts of air, and view of the Bohemian
countryside was pretty good. However, what worried us was the
driver's eagerness to overtake every other vehicle on the road
(especially on blind corners) and the number of interesting little
shrines and piles of rusted metal commemorating some other unlucky
drivers collision with a tree. We made it to Prague without any
problems - though my buddy swears that our bus missed a car by a
matter of inches while performing one of it's "pass 5 cars while
taking a corner" manoeuvres - and I've travelled on Czech buses since
then. However, they're not for the faint hearted.
Holidays in this year will be great. I passed my exam to university,
and this year I want to visit Holland exactly: Amsterdam. Of course I
am short of money so I have to go there by hitch-hiking, but I'm sure
it will be great adventure. There will be Kwakoe Festival, Heineken
Dance Parade, Canal Festival, World Harbor Festival and more,
more attractions. :) I know that Amsterdam isn't cheap, so I thing
I will have to find some job. In September I would like go to
France to a vineyard - it's hard work, but I have never done it.
Have a nice day :)
8. THE VENT
~~~~~~~~~~

~~ Everybody's got an opinion. What's yours? ~~

I really like the email set-up ISIConnect uses but I think it would
be more helpful if you displayed more emails one page. A lot of the
time I forget that if I have over 20 messages or so that I have to
check the SECOND page and that way I don't get all my mail.

Just a suggestion. Thanks.

Vanessa
