What is the Travel Safe?
The Travel Safe is a secure place to store the details of your important
documents. All information is incredibly secure because it's stored using high commerical-grade encryption.

that unlocks your Travel Safe. You can access the information in your
Travel Safe 24 hours a day from any computer connected to the Internet of by
calling Customer Service.
Why use the Travel Safe?
Hard copy documents can always get misplaced or lost, and it usually happens
at the most inopportune times. How do you tell an embassy your passport number
if you can't find your passport? So if you have information that you might need
to access for some reason during your travels, for example, flight ticket details,
travellers cheque numbers, or insurance details, you can store the information
in Travel Safe That way you can keep the hard copy documents stored in a safe
place, and still easily access the information online whenever you need it.
How do I store information into my Travel Safe?
Log into the website and click Travel Tools then Travel Safe.
Click Continue to create your pass phrase and follow the online instructions to enter your information.

the above items?
Yes. Store it in the 'Extras' item.
Do I have to fill in all of the fields when I enter
information into my Travel Safe?
No. You can enter as few or many details in any of the fields as you like.
Where is my information actually stored?
All of the information you store in the Travel Safe is encrypted then inserted
in our customer database on our server. Access to the server is restricted,
which maintains the security and integrity of your data. For more information
about how the data is stored, see Encryption.
If I can't get onto the Internet, is there
any other way to find out the information I put in my Travel Safe?
Yes. After you type your information, at the bottom of the window you will see
a checkbox and a message saying: 'Check this box if you wish to be able to access
your Travel Safe by phoning Customer Service.'
If you click the checkbox, you can then phone Customer Service for the country you are in and have them tell you your information. They can even fax up to five pages of information to you. To verify your identity they will ask you for your ISIConnect number and pass phrase.
When you click the checkbox, it is valid for only that category. So if you want to be able to get all of your information via telephone, make sure you click the checkbox for every category.
If you ever do ask Customer Service for your information, be sure to change your pass phrase as soon as possible afterwards. (We will send you a reminder email to do this.)
Can I delete items from the Travel Safe?
Yes. From the Travel Safe home page, click the item you want to delete. At the
bottom of the list of information, click Delete item.
What is a pass phrase?
A pass phrase is like a PIN or password, but it's longer so it's harder for
other people to guess. A pass phrase must be between four and eight words long,
and one of the words must be at least five letters long.
It is case sensitive, which means you must enter capital and lowercase letters exactly as you did when you first set the pass phrase. For example, 'Home is where the heart is'.
What is the pass phrase used for?
You must enter your pass phrase so the server can verify your identity before
it opens your Travel Safe.
The server also uses your pass phrase to encrypt and decrypt your personal Travel Safe key, (which it what it uses to encrypt and decrypt your information). The pass phrase must be at least four words long to ensure the Travel Safe key is securely encrypted.
How do I create a good pass phrase?
Here are some hints on how to make a good pass phrase:
What do I do if forget my pass phrase?
Because the Pass Phrase is used to decrypt the Travel Safe key, if you forget
your Pass Phrase there is absolutely no way to decrypt the key and unlock the
Travel Safe. No way whatsoever. So you must remember your Pass Phrase!
What is the cookie that is associated with
the Travel Safe used for?
The cookie (see What is a cookie?) contains an encrypted
version of your pass phrase. Every time you access your Travel Safe the cookie
is exchanged between your browser and our web server. The server obtains the
Pass Phrase from the cookie, decrypts it, then uses it to access the encrypted
information in the Travel Safe. The cookie remains valid for 15 minutes, or
until you exit the Travel Safe (if it is before the 15 minutes). When you Exit
+ Lock the Travel Safe, the cookie is deleted.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is data created by a Web server that is stored on your computer. It
lets a Web site keep track of your preferences and, with the cooperation of
the Web browser, it may store them on the your own hard disk.
How secure is the Travel Safe?
Very! It's more secure than the way almost any other organisation stores your
personal details.
What makes it so secure?
Travel Safe security is defined by the level of encryption applied to the information
it handles. In the computer industry it is generally accepted that there are
five levels of encryption:
All encryption can be broken, given enough time and computing resources. The Travel Safe uses high commercial grade encryption when storing your information in the database, which means that it would require significant computing resources before it could be successfully decrypted.
Is my information still secure while it's travelling
over the Internet to and from the database?
Whenever you store information in the Travel Safe, the information travels
over the Internet on a secure connection via SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). This
ensures that all the data is encrypted during transit. If a hacker was to intercept
the data, they would find it almost impossible to decrypt and read.
What are my responsibilities to ensure the security
of my information?
When you have finished storing information, you must click the Lock and
exit Travel Safe button. This securely stores your information in our database,
and locks your Travel Safe until you open it next time.
As a security precaution, the Travel Safe automatically closes after 15 minutes. If you are inside the Travel Safe when it closes, you're prompted to enter your pass phrase again. After you've re-entered your Pass Phrase you can continue using Travel Safe for another 15 minutes.
How do I ensure that none of my information
remains on my computer for anyone else to find?
Always exit the Travel Safe properly by either
Most browsers cache (store a history of) the pages you view during a normal web session. To be absolutely sure there is no trace of the information you have entered or viewed, whenever you finish using ISIConnect , close the browser window. That way anyone who uses the computer after you cannot find out any of the information you stored in your Travel Safe.
